Welcome to the BA Economics Society at The University of Manchester. By becoming a member or participating in our activities, events, or services, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions.

 

1. Membership

  • Membership is open to all current students of The University of Manchester enrolled in the BA Economics programme.

  • Membership grants access to society events, workshops, networking opportunities, and other activities organized by the society.

  • Membership fees (if applicable) must be paid in full in accordance with the society’s rules and guidelines.

2. Code of Conduct

  • Members are expected to behave respectfully and professionally at all times during society events and activities.

  • Discrimination, harassment, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

  • All members should adhere to The University of Manchester’s student code of conduct and policies.

3. Events and Activities

  • The BA Economics Society organizes events such as seminars, workshops, networking sessions, and social gatherings. Participation is voluntary, but members are encouraged to attend.

  • Events may have limited capacity. Registration may be required, and priority may be given to society members.

  • The society reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to unforeseen circumstances.

4. Use of Personal Data

  • By signing up as a member, you agree to the collection and use of your personal data for society-related purposes, including but not limited to event registration, communication, and member management.

  • Your personal data will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.

5. Liability

  • The BA Economics Society at The University of Manchester will take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of members during society events.

  • However, members participate in society activities at their own risk, and the society is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damage incurred during participation in events or activities.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Any materials, presentations, or content produced by the society or its organisers during events remain the intellectual property of the BA Economics Society or its respective creators unless otherwise stated.

  • Members are not permitted to reproduce, distribute, or use society materials for commercial purposes without prior permission.

7. Amendments

  • The BA Economics Society reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any significant changes through the society’s communication channels (e.g., email, website, or social media).

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
